"A healer does not heal you. A healer is someone who holds space for you while you awaken your inner healer, so that you may heal yourself." - Maryam Hasnaa

This belief guides my approach to therapy and is at the heart of the work I do with each client. I believe we all have the capacity to heal and create desired change within ourselves, sometimes we just need a safe and compassionate space to help bring it to light. My approach is person-centered and strengths-based, meeting each client where they are and adapting to their needs. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Art Therapy to help clients increase their self-awareness, identify patterns in their thinking, and develop healthier ways to manage emotions and interactions. I also incorporate mindfulness practices, helping clients slow down, stay present, and breathe through challenging moments.

I have experience working with children, preteens, teens, and young adults in a variety of settings including schools, hospitals and community mental health facilities. I currently work with pre-teens, teens and young adults coping with anxiety, depression, ADHD, chronic illness/pain, social concerns, stress management and life transitions.

One of my teenage clients once joked, “Feelings, ew”—and honestly, I get it! Emotions, especially in those preteen and teen years, can feel overwhelming and confusing. My role is to help make sense of that emotional landscape, providing practical tools and skills to navigate it while walking alongside you through the process of healing and self-discovery. I take the time to build trust, using humor, compassion, and flexibility to create a comfortable environment. Therapy is your space, and my goal is to make sure it feels that way.

I earned my master’s degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Art Therapy from Lesley University. With specialized training in art therapy I have access to a unique toolkit, particularly for clients who might find it easier to express themselves through creative outlets. Art can provide a powerful way to process emotions, allowing for healing and expression when words don’t come easily. Combining traditional talk therapy with art helps my clients access new perspectives and insights that words alone can’t always reach.

In my free time I love traveling to new places, eating good food, reading, experiencing live music, spending time in nature with my family and snuggling with my dog.

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in the state of North Carolina and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of South Carolina.
