My first goal as a therapist is to create a judgment free zone where you as the client feel safe to explore emotions, experiences, and thoughts freely. I believe that you are the expert of your own experience and my role is to help you feel empowered, validated, and supported throughout the therapeutic process. Together, I hope to help you increase your self-compassion, create new coping skills, work on healthy boundary setting, and ultimately gain a better understanding of the puzzle that is you.
I work with adolescents and adults in individual, family, or group therapy settings. I have extensive experience working with military dependents, veterans, and people who are going through big life changes. I have also helped people struggling with anxiety, OCD (utilizing ERP therapy), mood disorders, relational difficulties, trauma and PTSD symptoms, stress management, emotional regulation, and autism spectrum disorder. I take an integrated approach to therapy as I find different clients benefit from different strategies. While keeping this in mind, the modalities and concepts I utilize most often are acceptance and commitment therapy, internal family systems, and psychodynamic theory.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in North Carolina and have a master’s degree in Counseling and Development with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In addition, I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).
