I am passionate about assisting individuals, couples, and families on their mission to thrive and believe that seeking assistance to navigate life’s many ups and downs is one of the bravest steps an individual can take. I believe in the power of therapy to assist with trauma and to provide clients with the resources needed to get closer to their goals.

I specialize in working with teens, families and couples in various life stages and I have experience working with a multitude of concerns such as depression, anxiety, and familial and couple conflict. Whether it's a marriage that’s facing communication issues or a parent-child bond that has experienced a fracture, I am passionate about therapy being a healing experience and understand that healing looks different for each individual. I desire to breathe life into the therapeutic experience by bringing laughter, creativity, collaboration, and understanding into each session. My goal is for each person who attends a session with me to leave with a renewed sense of hope and tools to navigate futures ups and downs.

In sessions, I utilize a variety of approaches from Cognitive-behavioral Therapy (CBT), the Gottman Couples approach, Structural Family Therapy, and more to help you and your family reach your goals. I have seen these approaches offer healing not just on a personal level but for entire families as well. As a self-proclaimed “professional nerd”, I have also received training in Therapeutically Applied Tabletop Role Play Games, or TATTRPG for short. This unique method provides space for clients to grow in a therapeutic setting using games such as Dungeons and Dragons to facilitate opportunities for teamwork, problem-solving, and interpersonal development among youth and adults alike. This therapy is especially helpful for teens ages 12-18 who feel intimidated by traditional talk therapy.

I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at Liberty university and am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFT-A). I am grateful for the privilege of working with families in conflict or crisis and playing a part in the healing process. As a foster, adoptive, and biological father myself, I am passionate about helping families of all shapes and sizes find healing despite trauma, attachment issues, or difficult childhood backgrounds. I am happy to approach sessions from a Christian perspective upon client request.

When I am not in session I enjoy a variety of hobbies, from fishing to hunting to hitting up local game shops to play card games. I run my own Dungeons and Dragons campaign and am an avid fan of multiple video game franchises. My family has participated in the realm of foster care for over 6 years now. This has fueled my passion for advocating for youth and families.

I am a licensed LMFTA (Marriage and Family Therapist Associate) in North Carolina, and I have a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University. I provide counseling for individuals, couples, families, and groups in-person in Cornelius, North Carolina and virtually throughout North Carolina.
